The WWII German Focke-Wulf Fw 190A featured a relatively simple design that placed a large radial engine in the narrow fuselage of a small single-seat fighter. After the "Butcher Bird" took its maiden flight on June 1, 1939, its effectiveness in the roles of air superiority, interception, ground attack and bombing led many Luftwaffe pilots to happily swap their Messerschmitt Bf 109s for the new warbird. This first E-flite® Focke-Wulf model is based on a full-scale replica once owned by the late Rudy Frasca. Painted with the wartime marks of Austrian Luftwaffe pilot Oskar Bosch, the replica was flown at West Coast airshows and national air races in Reno. Overview
This first E-flite® Focke-Wulf is also the most detailed RC model, with the best handling and highest performance of the Axis warbird! The Fw 190A 1.5m is larger than most other models of the famous fighter, but it is easy to assemble - and to carry and store thanks to its unique 3-piece wing design because the middle section includes the main gear and the outer panels simply snap into place securely without requiring fasteners. The factory-installed brushless power system with its large diameter 3-blade propeller uses common 6S 3200-7000mAh batteries to provide above-scale flight speeds, 80+ MPH, and nearly unlimited vertical performance. It also has more authentic details than most similar and smaller models. The sturdy composite-reinforced aircraft frame includes molded panel lines and guns, a detachable tank, and even more detail in extra scale. Functional features of the extra ladder, such as LED navigation lights, split flaps, and control surfaces with pocket hinges, take the experience to another level. In addition to adding realism, the large-space main gear with factory-installed electric retracts, durable metal components and shock-absorbing struts of ladder-like length allow you to fly from a wide variety of surfaces, including paved runways and grass. Especially a wide range of pilots, even those with limited warbird experience, can enjoy flying this model, especially the BNF® Basic version which includes the exclusive AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. The BNF Basic comes with an AR637TA receiver that takes full advantage of Spektrum ™ Avian ™ ESC's Smart technology to provide full range, real-time battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM and other telemetry data to compatible transmitters. And it all adds up to deliver a warbird flying experience unlike any other with the best Focke-Wulf ever!
Exclusive technologies
This is the first large-scale Fw 190A model featuring the exclusive Spektrum ™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to mitigate the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a lockdown feel that makes it seem like you are flying a much larger plane. SAFE Select for optional use offers pitch and bank angle limits as well as automatic self-leveling which can be turned on and off with the push of a switch, making this one of the easiest Fw 190s to fly to date! And if you don't want to enable the SAFE Select functions, simply plug in the receiver as normal and only AS3X will be active.

High performance power
The factory installed power system features a 100A ESC plus a high power brushless outrunner motor that works with the large diameter three-blade propeller and a 6S 3200-7000mAh LiPo battery to deliver speeds in excess of those in scale and almost unlimited vertical performances.
Smart technology
The Fw 190A 1.5m features a unique Spektrum ™ Avian ™ Smart ESC that can provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including engine RPM, current, battery voltage and more via compatible receivers ( including the AR637TA installed in the BNF® base version) and transmitters equipped with Spektrum AirWare ™ (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2 / G3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX20 and others) during the flight.

The wide-spaced main gear features factory-installed electric retracts featuring durable metal components and shock-absorbing struts that allow you to fly from a wider variety of surfaces, including paved runways and grass. And unlike most other Fw 190 models, the ladder-like length struts offer a more authentic look and experience to scale.
